Lily Of The Valley (LOTV) is an exciting all-female outfit that plays music inspired by the expressive sound and style of Latin jazz, world music, soul and pop fusion, yet grounded with an undeniably funky undertow.

 

Formed by jazz vocalist/pianist Ywenna Carollin with Sharon Nunis on keys, Wendy Phua on bass, Jennifer Ng on drums and Anabel Chew on flute, the band is fired by a passion for challenging music that still delivers on groove and interest, lending rise to an expansive repertoire that ranges from cross-genre originals to popular music cast in intriguing progressive arrangements.

 

With entertainment high on the agenda, LOTV sees every show as a chance to deliver a captivating musical experience. From rousing solo features to lush harmonies delivered by the delectable TwoLips, a vocal side section comprising singers Yee Siling and Shuk Fong, each performance radiates unbridled fun and a sense of musical camaraderie in the group as unspoken directives fly between musicians onstage, urging the music forward in a delicate balance of arrangement and improvisation. 

 

With over 50 years of combined and diversified experience in performance, composition and arrangement, the ladies in LOTV have worked with stellar names like Jaclyn Victor, Zainal Abidin, Akira Jimbo (Casiopea), Mel Gaynor (Simple Minds), James LoMenzo (Megadeth), Shaggy, and Emma Shapplin, and performed at jazz festivals including Penang Island Jazz Festival, Sarawak Borneo Arts Festival and Mosaic Arts Festival and Singapore Wine & Jazz Festival.
