Jana Ang Fries

Harpist

 

Jana was born in Ostrava (Czech Republic) and was one of the youngest harpists to be accepted to the Prague Academy of Performing Arts and went on to achieve a First Class honours at the Cologne University of Music (Germany), a distinction rarely awarded.

Jana’s career has seen her win the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now award and playing with well known Orchestras such as the Virtuosi di Praga, Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, Brno Philharmonic Orchestra, Pilsen Theater Orchestra, South Bohemian Symphony Orchestra, North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra Teplice, Talich Chamber Orchestra among others.

Jana relocated to Singapore with her husband in 2004 and continues to play the harp professionally with Orchestras such as the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore Lyric Opera, Philharmonic Winds, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Festival Orchestra and is engaged in solo performances for VIP visits, functions, events and weddings.
