Jerry Yeo 杨伟烈
Wedding & Event Host | Vocalist
Jerry Yeo was the first runner-up of Star Search 2007. He also won the “Most Popular Contestant” award for the international talent search contest organised by MediaCorp TV. Jerry spent six months participating in intensive trainings and performances before he clinched the award in November 2007.
Jerry first started to attend vocal lessons when he was 14, and had received training in various music schools such as Lee Wei Song School of Music, Ocean Butterflies Music Forest, and also classical voice instructors, such as Nelson Kwei and Leona Quek. During his school days, he joined competitions in school as well as those open to the public, and won a singing competition, “Soul Live 2004” organised by A-Square Talents, and also held his own mini-concert at a shopping mall in town.
Jerry went on to receive extensive training in the SAF Music & Drama Company for one and a half years, alongside various current local artistes. His training was diverse and included singing, acting, hosting, and dancing. He also picked up ballet and jazz dance, as he was taught over there that dance is the fundamental language of stage performance.
Jerry’s works include various television dramas, such as “The Ultimatum” in 2009 for which he won the “Most Unforgettable Villain” award, and was also nominated for the “Best Supporting Actor” award, at Star Awards 2010. Jerry also recorded songs, such as the theme song for “Baby Bonus” for which he was the singer. Given his quick wit and remarkable language skills, he has since been also hosting live events and TV programmes, such as the “Eat & Be Merry” gourmet game show on MediaCorp Channel 8. He was nominated for the “Best Infotainment Host” at Star Awards 2014 for the TV programme “Life’s Big Factories 2”.
Jerry is, at the moment, a freelance artiste.
